a weeklong trekking expedition, organised every alternate year since
1983 exploring different forts of Sahyadris to develop the adventure
spirit amongst youth.

Chakram Hikers
played an instrumental role in conceptualising Girimitra Sammelan,
an annual State level get-together of mountaineers of Maharashtra in
2002. We actively participate in it every year and effectively hosted it
in the year 2004.

Organizing
Photography Exhibitions since 1986. We jointly organised Girivedh
2007, an aerial photography exhibition of Indian forts by Shri Gopal
Bodhe. The ground shots exhibited were clicked by the members of Chakram
Hikers.

Participation in
organisation of Tata Everest India ’98 expedition.

Leadership /
Outdoor Skills development and First-aid training camps for members.

Scholarships
are offered for the members undergoing Basic and Advance Mountaineering
Courses.

Chakram Hikers has a
full-fledged office, a well-stocked library and adequate
climbing equipment available for the benefit of the members.

|
Flood Relief
programme was organised post 26th July 05. Provided timely help by
distributing household items to more than 600 families in the interiors
of Raigad and Thane districts.

Ornithology
sessions and Historical excursions are conducted under able
guidance of experts.

Slide Shows
and Film shows by eminent photographers and experts on various
subjects like wild life, preservation of environment, astronomy etc. are
organised at regular intervals. |
