 Chakram
Hikers was established in the year 1983, as a platform for the
adventurous, inquisitive and curious individuals who wanted to explore the
mesmerizing nature and discover new places. Over the past 30 years, Chakram
Hikers has evolved into a multi-faceted group with activities that bring
everyone closer to the nature. Through years of dedicated efforts, the
organization has emerged successful in instilling the spirit of adventure
among all age groups. The main aim of Chakram Hikers is to promote the
spirit of adventure along with creating awareness about preservation of
environment and the rich cultural and historical heritage of Maharashtra.
The intriguing name ‘Chakram’ is coined by the first alphabets of the
Sanskrit Shlokas :
Charati Charato Bhagaha : he who constantly endeavors, his fate too
keeps progressing.
Kramanena Vasundhara : keep walking and acquiring knowledge of the
surroundings, attain self development in the form of intelligence and
wealth.
Manah pootam Samacharet: speak only what is purified by truth.
Practice that which occurs pure to the mind.
Chakram Hikers was registered with the Registrar of Societies and Charitable
Trusts in January 1983 (Registration No. F-8493/Bom, BOM/40/83 GBBSD).
