Day 1: The route from Panhala to Karpewadi (through Mhalunge, Mhasai Pathar, Kumbharwadi, Khotwadi, Mandlaiwadi) is mostly flat walk of 23 km. 

Day 2: Total walk during the day- Approx 33-35 Kms- Mostly Flat Walk of 23 Km from Karpewadi to Pavankhind. 500 feet Descent over 5 km from Vishalgad to Machal. 5km from Machal to Muchkund Rishi Cave temple and back 100m (ascent/descent)

From Karpewadi to Pandherpani is relatively flat walk of 21 km through forest patches, streams, Nilgiri forest and small sections of tar road. There was lot of muck in some sections because of heavy rains received this season. From Pandherpani to Vishalgad is tar road which was covered by vehicle. Vishalgad to Machal is a well-defined route with a descent of 100 mtrs over 5 kms. 

Day 3: Total Walk during the day- Appx 18 kms with 2000 ft ascend and 2000 ft descend. Khorninko to Machal is less explored route. It is around 9km ascent trek with 500 m elevation gain. The route is still used by few locals and frequented by trekkers as it is an offbeat trek with breathtaking views. The route is well defined and passes through water streams, rock patches and forest cover. One needs to be cautious while treading the traverses with exposure. 

Day 4: Total Walk during the day- Appx 15 kms with 2000 ft ascend and 2000 ft descend

The descent trek from Machal to Palu and Bhowade are well marked and still used by locals. The route from Machal to Humbarnewadi is through forest, boulders and rockpatches. After Humbarnewadi there is tar road, though an attempt was made to trek through trails where possible to escape the tar road. There were lot of leeches found on the Nilgiri jungle between Karpewadi to Ambewadi, Vishalgad to Machal and Muchkund Rishi Cave Temple.
